About Nadja Sharman
Nadja Sharman was born in Canada to an Austrian mother and English father. Her primary school education was entirely in French and her holidays were spent with family in Austria, speaking German. At the age of eleven her family moved to England where she completed her education (in English) before going to live in Austria for 4 years.
She started translating in 2000, working with Tim Carruthers. Her main focus has been on outdoor industry related texts and mountaineering literature. Her love of the outdoors as well as her experience in marketing for an adventure travel company enables her to pitch the tone of her texts at her clients' market.
She lives in the English Lake District with her film-maker husband, two children and dog, and tries to get out into the hills, walking or climbing, as much as possible. She also travels to Austria whenever possible to visit family, ski and generally enjoy the mountains.
